I think this is awesome to have a place to post thoughts about your journey Helene--for you and for all your friends. We are suffering, praying, laughing, and crying with you. I hope you are recovering well from the last chemo treatment and are able to participate in daily routines as much of possible. That's the key isn't it? To try and function while the poison does it's thing-kill that cancer! I love you and I will keep praying for you!

Yeah!!!!!!!!!
Helene was able to post today! I am so excited that it worked! For those of you who have never created a blog, it was challenging for me! I am in no way techy at all, but am glad she was able to post and let us know how she was doing!
They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them.
~ Psalm 112:7, NLT
This was my daily bible verse that comes via email everyday! Wow, talk about hitting home! Helene, I hope that you trust in the Lord, for He will take care of you!!!

Will this work?
I don't know if this is going to work.......I think I am blogging....will it work??? Ha! Helene the Techno Queen!
Had a fun time at Bunco Fri.- had a nap before I went and was chauffered home by 10 pm. Had some laughs and forgot my troubles for awhile. I am missing my 6 foot tall baby- as he is in DC. Sure is quiet without him around. Sunday I went shopping with my neice Kaleigh to the mall- after we had lunch at Steak and Shake. (She talked me into ordereing a milk shake- it was all her fault!) Sunday night was rough- felt the effects of the chemo. We were fortunate last night in having friends bring over dinner- with enough for another meal. I am trying to get in to Rush Cancer Center for a 2nd opinion- just to make sure I am on the right track for treatment. Hopefully they can get me in around the chemo treatments.
Let's see if this is going to post-

Praise You in this Storm!
I love Casting Crown's song...Praise You in This Storm! Here are a few lines...
And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
During the good times and bad times we must remember to Praise Him. Praising God for all of the many blessings in our lives...one of them being a friend named Helene!

Friends...
I received am email from Helene today. A friend of hers named Paula sent her a very beautiful handmade wellness necklace. The stones represent the following:
*red jasper repels cancer
*jade provides protection and brings positive energy
*moss agate brings hope and prosperity
Helene said the necklace is beautiful!!!
Another friend named Karen sent her two Cheer Me Up packages. Helene loved the summery hat, the fun green scarf, cute green earrings and candy for St. Patrick's Day.
A friend once told me that the most important thing in life was family and friends. Helene has many friends praying for her, and sending warm thoughts her way!!!
Psalms 31:24
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

Josette and Lisa
Josette is a friend of Helene's who has sent her a rosary! What a great friend to pass along a rosary to pray for strength and health! Friends and prayers do make a difference.
Lisa was my former teaching assistant. She still works with me so I see her often. The minute I need prayer, I seek out Lisa. She is a Godly woman, and knows the Word so much more than I do. She wrote a post saying what Jesus suffered through on the cross was so much bigger than cancer. That seems to be a reoccuring theme as I talk to people who read the Bible frequently. He is so much bigger than cancer.
Psalms 138:3
3 In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.

Gladys!!!
Who is Gladys? One thing I can say my friend Helene has is a sense of humor.
She named her cranial prothesis-a wig-Gladys!!! I can't imagine knowing that you are going to lose your hair! I pray that God gives her the strength to know that she is a beautiful woman with or without hair. Helene has always worked out and always looks great! I hope her new Gladys makes her look as beautiful as she truly is!!!
I Peter 5:7 Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
